ClubLog Realtime QSO’s
My amateur radio operations run 24×7 and I will complete 2-way contacts (QSO’s) on an adhoc basis. ClubLog is updated realtime as contacts are made.

For the longest time I have been operating with MacDoppler providing VFO control and either python or node-red taking a UDP stream from MacDoppler for rotator control to send slew commands to my iOptron telescope mount every second. My initial experiences using a Goto mount are detailed here: https://www.beyondcli.com/ham/satellite-tracking-using-astronomy-goto-mount/
It has been working well but it just got a little better…
Commercial weather services that provide lightning detection via API cost a small fortune in subscription costs since lightning detection is a small part of a total weather monitoring package. As a ham radio operator, I needed something simpler and came across several projects that build lightning detection around Adrunio and Raspberry Pi’s using the AS3935 detector…
Two KB’s document the issue but just a heads up if you have been cloning boot luns to deploy ESXi, you are going to have a really bad day…
The following KB’s detail the issue: https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/84280 & https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/84349
Recently, I reviewed the video by K4WOF https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpgV8P6ocLE and was motivated to build my own satellite tracking mount. Satellite operations are considerably easier if satellite tracking is automated so that satellite passes can be focused on radio work. Somewhat comically, automated antenna tracking looks exciting and generates community interest in our amateur radio activities. I have to apologize as mistakes were made by me as I came up to speed with satellite operations. A shout out to Jason N8PDX for invaluable feedback.
